HISTORY
The creation of the Latin American Health foundation stems from a family tradition rooted in an important sense of social responsibility begun by Eugenio Mendoza Goiticoa. In the 1940's, Eugenio Mendoza created the first foundation in Venezuela, with the formation of Fundación Venezolana Contra la Parálisis Infantil. Today, The Fundación Eugenio Mendoza has expanded through the continued commitment of his children and grandchildren to meet the ever-increasing needs of the country and the region.
Compelled by this sense of social responsibility, LAHF was created by the third and fourth generation members of the Mendoza family living in the United States with the goal of creating awareness of the basic health and educational concerns facing children in Latin American communities.
LAHF seeks to unite the Latin American community in the U.S. for the purpose of supporting programs and institutions that address these needs in Latin America.
